Kakira Sugar Limited makes sugar from cane grown on 9,500 hectares of its own nucleus estate, as well as an additional 7,000 hectares in KSL-managed satellite projects. With the balance cane being supplied by over 10,000 outgrower farmers, the Kakira factory produces over 180,000 tonnes of sugar per year, and nearly 50% of the sugar consumed in Uganda. Our brand is the most popular countrywide because it is sweet, with distinctive taste and flavour, and a rich, golden colour.
